About Us Bill Gray, a former banker, surrendered his life to Christ at the age of 36. He has spent his time since investing in others. Bill founded Metro Ministries of Mobile, Inc. in 1989, resigned banking and continued full time in ministry establishing a Sidewalk Sunday School in one of the most violent and drug infested neighborhoods of Mobile. Along with a small group of volunteers, two more sites of Sidewalk Sunday School were added. Bill caught vision to reach children trapped underneath drugs and dysfunction of many kinds. In 1991, Bill Gray and Cheryl Goodman married in an outdoor service in the community where the kids could witness the wedding. Cheryl transferred from the Foreign Mission Field as a missionary to Paraguay, South America and the two of them became missionaries serving Mobile's inner city. Together they established a non-traditional ministry center, a safe haven for children in Mobile's inner city. Today, Bill and Cheryl have transitioned the ministry to Metro Ministries Global Prayer. They pray for Ministries and Missionaries in their outreaches. Watch for plans for 2024 Global Prayer Task Force Teams overseas.
